The USB 2 Standard‑A–Type‑C cable is one of seven allowed Type‑C–legacy cables. It allows a modern peripheral device, hub, or power-consuming device (i.e. one with a Type‑C receptacle) to connect to a legacy (pre–USB‑C) host or charger with a Standard‑A receptacle.
