Totally agree — ADM is great, especially since, like Find My iPhone for Apple gear, it’s built right in to the device. I personally still use Prey on my Android phone and tablet, just because it has a few extra useful features, but ADM is still very good!

I did have one addition to make, which was for those of us running Android phones, Google has a brilliant thing called ‘Android Device Manager’.
I mislaid my phone recently, and signed into the manager. It brought up three options, as well as the location of the phone (considering I’d left it in the garage, underground, it was still correct to 1000m. Above ground at the moment, it’s correct to 22m). These are call, block and wipe, all easily accessed.

Android also gives the option to enter emergency information (medical etc) and contacts. I have an alternative phone number on the lock screen and relatives contact info in the emergency info – if my phone was to go missing (not stolen), it would be hard not to find me!
